Back from the ashes

*cough* *gasp*

Oh, hey there! Yeah, we’re back after a couple months buried in ashes and dust. That Cataclysm was a major hit, selling as fast as free candy and giving me no excuse to give the blog some loving time – which coincidentally is happening right now. You still have time to start doing that strange trip towards your purple drake (and a 5.000 gold discount on that 310% flying speed) so don’t waste a minute or else you’ll have to wait another year to do that – ugh!

And now, GOOD NEWS everyone!

Last night Chaotica downed the first two bosses of Blackwing Descent and in the process achieved level 15! Congratulations on a job well done, even after a few bumps on those damn robots. Tonight we’re giving a try on Atramedes and Maloriak. I know we can bring down Atramedes within a couple tries, and Maloriak is all about raid coordination so we’ll see what happens.

Halion 10-man how-to

HalionLast night we tried Halion on 10-man and wiped a lot. No good, my friend!

So as Kez suggested, here’s the video strat for it found on TankSpot and a link to the full written strategy with some very good raid positioning schemes along with it.

I recommend you watch the video and, for the love of everything that’s sacred, go read the article on TankSpot after watching it.

Rotface heroic mode 10 man

Daddy said...

So in the last couple nights we’ve tackled some heroics in 10-man ICC. On the first night we tried Marrowgar and HOLY CRAP, its an intense fight specially for the healers. We banged our heads about 8 times and eventually called it. We’ll try again in the future of course, we just need to figure out the best raid comp for that. This I believe is the second tougher heroic in ICC.

Then, we went to Deathwhisper. Heroic mode. One-shoted her.  That was a smooth fight, everyone performed great! It’s not so hard, just needs a bit more attention to our surroundings.

After that, we climbed up to the Loot Ship, again on heroic mode, a one-shot fight. It’s the easier heroic mode in ICC anyways. Before we started sailing, we played some hot potato game that awarded us some extra Frost Badges. There’s  no heroic mode for that, sadly, so hey Blizzard here’s a tought: make an heroic version of it and give us 10 extra badges!

When we sank the horde ship, flawlessly, we tried Saurfang on heroic mode. The problem was, everytime somebody died, his health jumped to nearly 100% again! That’s insane. In this fight, nobody can die. We tried a few times and got tired of it, then decided to push forward. He went down on regular before casting a single Mark.

And then we met our gooood friends Festergut and Rotface. Wiped a couple times on Festergut because of the malleable goo bouncing around (we didn’t saw that green pool on the floor in the first couple pulls, that’s where the goo will land). Lesson learned, we downed him.

Now Rotface, that was a bit harder than we expected. Lots more stuff going on, people puking out of nowhere (its a random cast in this fight, so even the kiting tank was hit a few times), the goo debuff having to be cleansed in a second, casting bubbles on people getting hit by the little goos, kiting the big one as close to the wall as possible, avoiding the green pools on the floor, whoa! After some headbanging we finally killed him.

So we proceeded to Dreamwalker on heroic mode. Hard fight. Lots of wipes. For that we need more healing I guess. And the zombies, they ZOOM at people, it’s like zombies on caffeine! Realizing we didn’t have the comp for it, we did it on regular mode, no wipes, no biggie, by the book.

Back to Putricide now, we did it on regular mode because we knew there was no way to get it done on heroic mode. That was a one shot, everyone did great. Movement was awesome, dps was awesome, that guy on the big suit was awesome and a couple people got the achievement for clearing the plague area. Gooood job, everyone!

And then we called it a night. On the next chapter: Sindragosa!
